Subclass 400:
Temporary Work (Short Stay Specialist) Visa
A Subclass 400 visa is for people who need to travel to Australia to do highly-specialised, short-term, and non-ongoing work – or to participate in an activity/work relating to Australia’s interests.
You’ll need to demonstrate that you have the right skills, knowledge, and experience needed to do the work in Australia.
Your skills would be ones that can’t reasonably be found in the Australian labour market.
Up to three months can be spent in Australia with the short stay specialist visa – although in exceptional circumstances, it can be granted for up to six months. Note that this visa can’t be extended – but you can include your family in your application.
Subclass 400 may be issued as a single entry or a multiple entry visa.
